The strongest choice depends on your diagnosis, disease severity, medical history, treatment goals, relevant specialist expertise, cellular product, treatment route, supporting evidence, and aftercare requirements.
A stem cell clinic that may be well suited to treating knee osteoarthritis is not automatically the best option for a spinal cord injury.
A provider experienced with neurological cases may not be the right choice for an orthopedic procedure.
And even a sophisticated clinic can recommend a protocol that does not make sense for your diagnosis.

One of the most useful ways to compare stem cell clinics in Thailand is to ask whether the provider appears to understand the problem it is actually trying to treat.
Consider two patients.
One has moderate knee osteoarthritis after years of sport.
Another has a traumatic spinal cord injury.
Both may find clinics advertising mesenchymal stromal cells, or MSCs.
But the expertise, diagnostics, delivery methods, rehabilitation requirements, and outcome measures relevant to those patients are very different.
The same principle applies across regenerative medicine.
A clinic offering essentially the same IV stem cell protocol for unrelated conditions should be able to provide a convincing condition-specific rationale.
Different diseases involve different tissues, mechanisms, risks, and treatment goals.
For example, a 2025 Thai randomized study involving patients with early knee osteoarthritis found favorable clinical and MRI outcomes after intra-articular adipose-derived stromal cell treatment compared with hyaluronic acid over six months.⁶
But that specific study should not be extrapolated to every stage of osteoarthritis, every cell source, or every regenerative medicine protocol.
The useful question is therefore not simply “Does this clinic offer stem cells for my condition?”
It is:
“Why does this medical team believe this specific treatment is appropriate for my version of this condition?”

One of the most revealing questions you can ask is:
Who is actually deciding whether I am a candidate for treatment?
Ideally, the recommendation should come after your medical history, imaging, laboratory results, previous treatments, and current symptoms have been reviewed by a physician with relevant expertise.
For an orthopedic problem, that may mean an orthopedic or sports-medicine specialist.
For a complex neurological condition, the evaluation may require a neurologist, neurosurgeon, rehabilitation specialist, or multidisciplinary team.

“Stem cell therapy” is not a precise description of a treatment.
Two clinics can both advertise stem cells while proposing very different biological products.
You may encounter:

Not necessarily. A higher stem cell count does not automatically mean a better treatment.
This is one of the easiest traps to fall into when comparing treatment proposals.
One clinic may recommend 30 million cells. Another may offer 100 million. A third may advertise 300 million or more.
The biggest number can look like the obvious winner.
But cell count is only one variable.
A more meaningful comparison considers:
cell source + viable dose + manufacturing quality + delivery route + treatment target + patient selection + supporting evidence

Joint Commission International standards are designed to help healthcare organizations measure and improve quality and patient safety.⁵
That can be an important facility-level signal.
However, JCI explicitly states that it does not assess whether the specific care provided to an individual patient was appropriate.⁵

JCI accreditation can tell you something about the healthcare organization.
It does not validate the efficacy of a particular stem cell product, dose, delivery route, or indication.
This is where clinic selection becomes much more interesting.
Imagine receiving three proposals:

Instead, work backwards from the medical reasoning.
Compare each proposal across the same questions:
Do not start by comparing the final number.
First compare what each quote actually includes.
One package may primarily cover a cellular procedure.
